About Me

I'm Skylar Baker. I'm from San Francisco, California and I am 17 years old. I attended the Urban School of San Francisco for high school, will attend Stanford University for college, and have been studying Chinese since the start of freshman year. I applied for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth in October 2015, became a semi-finalist and had an interview in February, then found out that I received the scholarship in March. It has been such an adventure and I hope that I can take my Chinese language skills and understanding of the culture to a new level.
